The Design Studio product is a graphical application used by the business process architect to design, publish, and manage workflow documents. Written in Java, the application runs on all major operating systems.

Graphical Design Tool
Design Studio provides an intuitive, easy-to-use graphical user interface for designing and testing Automate BPM workflows. Using drag-and-drop techniques, a business process architect can design all aspects of a workflow ranging from form design to business rule implementation to systems integration. The workflow design process can be accomplished entirely off-line. Design Studio produces an XML document representing the workflow, which can then be published to an Automate BPM Server

Model Validation Capability
Design Studio allows you to perform comprehensive workflow validation including rule syntax checking, referential integrity enforcement, infinite loop detection, workflow integrity checks, and so on. While this validation capability does not replace actual operational testing of your workflows on an Automate BPM Server, it can significantly reduce workflow design time by helping you catch common mistakes early in the design process.

Version Control
Automate BPM provides native support for version control of workflow documents, including document locking, check-in, check-out, and version management. Design Studio can also be used to handle bulk transfer of workflow documents between Automate BPM Servers.

On-Line Help
Design Studio comes with a comprehensive on-line help system which includes context-sensitive help and a tutorial that takes you through the steps of building a complete workflow.
